Contributors


Robert Alley is Professor of Humanities at the University of Richmond, Virginia. His essay is adapted from a transcript of the address he delivered at the Mormon/Humanist dialogue.

Lavina Fielding Anderson, proprietor of Editing, Inc., is a former Associate Editor of The Ensign and editor of the Journal of Mormon History.

Gary James Bergera is coauthor (with Ron Priddis) of Brigham Young University: A House of Faith (Salt Lake City: Signature Books, 1985). His essay is adapted from a panel discussion on academic freedom at Brigham Young University, sponsored by the B. H. Roberts Society, held at the University of Utah on 16 September 1993.

Martha Sonntag Bradley is a former Professor of History at Brigham Young University, Associate Professor of History at the University of Utah, and coeditor of Dialogue: A Journal of Mormon Thought.

Frederick S. Buchanan is Professor of Education at the University of Utah.

Bonnie Bullough is Professor Emeritus of Nursing, State University of New York at Buffalo.

Vern L. Bullough is Distinguished Professor Emeritus at State University of New York at Buffalo.

Cecilia Konchar Farr is Professor of English at Brigham Young University.

Paul Kurtz is Emeritus Professor of Philosophy at State University of New York at Buffalo and editor of Free Inquiry magazine.

Gerald Larue is Professor Emeritus of Archaeology and Biblical Studies at the University of Southern California.

Walter Lippmann was an award-winning journalist and author who commented for many years on national and international affairs.

L. Jackson Newell is Professor of Educational Administration at the University of Utah.

F. Ross Peterson is Professor of History at Utah State University at Logan.
